What is Bucked Up Pre Workout
This pre workout took the market by storm and people are raving about it. According to their website, they formulated this pre workout supplement for two main reasons: to help push harder in the gym – up your gym session and to be the best pre workout products available on the market.
One of the things that makes Bucked Up different is that they do not use proprietary blends, stating that they “don’t have anything to hide.”
You know exactly what ingredients you are getting and how much of each. This, of course, is important when it comes to choosing the perfect pre workout formula for your needs.
They offer 18 flavors, this amount is crazy to me. Given they offer so many, it makes me skeptical about how good it tastes.
These are the flavors they offer: Blood Raz, Blue Raz, Blue Raz Lemonade, Breezy Blast, Caramel Apple, Grape, Gym N Juice, Killa OJ, Rocket Pop, Sour Gummy, Strawberry Kiwi, Strawberry Watermelon, Swole Whip, Watermelon Lemonade, Watermelon, Miami, Dragon Fruit, and Rum Punch.
It has great reviews on Amazon with a 4.6 stars from over 4,400 reviews. Side not: The Amazon formula doesn’t contain Deer Antler Velvet Extract, as it’s not allowed by Amazon.
So I HAD to try it for myself.
Let’s start with how it looks then, discuss each ingredient, and then go to my experience.
How does it look?
Here are pictures so you can get an idea.
Ingredients: What Is It, Benefits And Side Effects:
Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient you need for the functioning of your brain, nervous system and to produce red blood cells. You can find this nutrient in different foods like meat, fish, and dairy products. You can also choose to take it as a supplement.
However, I generally prefer natural sources. It’s recommended to take 2.4 micrograms of vitamin B12 daily for adults. There is no set tolerable upper intake level for vitamin B12 and is considered safe. However, consuming high doses of vitamin B12 could lead to side effects such as acne, skin irritation, and allergic reactions.
Sodium, which is an electrolyte, plays an important role in maintaining a healthy balance of fluids in the body. You can find sodium in many foods like processed foods and also in some drinks.
Adults are recommended a daily intake of no more than 2,300 milligrams per day. If you consume high levels of sodium, it could lead to getting high blood pressure. This increases your risk of heart disease and stroke, we don’t want that.
Citrulline Malate 2:1
Citrulline Malate 2:1 is an amino acid combo of citrulline and malic acid. There are many benefits that this combo claims to provide. It helps improve exercise performance and reduces your muscle fatigue.
The information is otherwise limited, and more research has to be done to fully understand their effects on the body. It is believed that these possible side effects are the same as for other amino acids such as stomach discomfort and diarrhea.
The next amino acid on the list is Beta Alanine. It will improve your performance in the gym by increasing your production of carnosine. This compound that helps with lactic acid in your muscles.
Beta alanine is a popular ingredient in pre workout supplements and the typical doses is around of 2-5 grams per day. So when it comes to the side effects, consuming high doses can cause a tingling sensation on the skin. Some people love it and others hate it, regardless it’s generally not harmful, but can be uncomfortable if you aren’t used to it.
Caffeine, we consume it in coffee, tea, and chocolate. This stimulant is also often on the ingredient list of pre workout supplements due to its effects of increasing your level of energy and alertness.
Adults should not consume more than 400 milligrams per day. This is because consuming high doses can cause insomnia, make you feel nervous and irritable. It can also cause rapid/irregular heartbeats, stomach upset, and increase your blood pressure.
AlphaSize Alpha GPC
AlphaSize Alpha GPC (alpha-glycerylphosphorylcholine), seems to have many benefits such improving your cognitive function, increasing your growth hormone levels. To understand its effects on the body and its side effects, more research is needed.
Deer Antler Velvet Extract
The ingredient that is causing a lot of the noise is Deer Antler Velvet Extract. This substance is obtained from the antlers of deer and claims to have many health benefits.
It can improve your athletic performance and also increase your strength. There is limited scientific evidence supporting these claims, the same is true when it comes to its side effects.
Taurine, which is involved in many physiological processes, is an amino acid found in the body. It claims to improve your workout performance and increase your strength. Consuming too much of it lead to an upset stomach, diarrhea, and allergic reactions.
Hymalayan Rock Salt with Trace Minerals
Himalayan Rock Salt with Trace Minerals is mined from, you guessed it, the Himalayan Mountains. It’s believed to have a similar role in the body as sodium in improving your hydration and electrolyte balance. Just like with sodium, having too much of it can lead to high blood pressure, increase your risk of heart disease and stroke.
This plant extracts blend is patented and claims to improve the body’s nutrients’ absorption. To fully understand how Astrafgn® effects the body and the related side effects, more research need to be done.
Actigin® is also a patented blend of plant extracts, just like Astragin®. This blend claims to improve your performance while working out and reducing your muscle fatigue. More research is needed to understand its effects and side effects on the body.

What Customers Are Saying
Most customer their issue (see pics below) is the “low” 200mg of caffeine which is surely less than other brand but more would not be healthy at all.
Did you know that the recommended daily dose is a maximum of 400 milligrams a day for adults? Consuming more than this can cause insomnia, nervousness, irritability, rapid or irregular heartbeat and other side effects we’ll get into later.
My Experience: Amazing or Just Trash?
The first time: Exciting but skeptical
Let me tell you, the first time was a cool and an exciting experience.
I got the tub from the cabinet and as soon as I opened it and took a sniff, I knew I was in for a treat. The Blood Razz flavor smelled surprisingly good… I wanted to try it straight out of the tub (but I resisted the temptation) and filled the shaker with some water.
When it came time to mix up a serving, I took one scoop and added it to the shaker with the water. I was pleasantly surprised by how easily it mixed, it didn’t have any clumps or a gritty texture. And when it came to taste, oh man, this is where Bucked Up really stood out to me. It’s by far the best-tasting pre workout I’ve ever had. And that’s something I don’t easily say because I am very critical.
I chugged that bad boy down, started my workout and waited for the Bucked Up magic to happen. And let me tell you, after about 10minutes, I started to feel more energetic. It gave me just the right amount of caffeine, I got all the focus and energy I needed to tackle my workout without the jitters.
I also noticed a little tingling sensation on my skin, this is due to the beta alanine of course. It was kind of cool, I enjoyed the sensation. It was like a little extra boost that helped me power through my workout.
I noticed that the extra energy and focus I experienced was sustained during my whole workout. I was able to push myself and got an amazing workout session. At this point, I concluded that this was due to my using a new pre workout and being excited about it like a kid with a new car toy.
For a first experience using Bucked Up Pre Workout, I was really impressed. It tasted amazing, I got a great boost of energy, and even got a little tingling sensation action to add to the excitement. I was curious to keep using it in the coming weeks to see if I would continue to like it as much as the first time.
Verdict after one month: I am a Bucked Up Workout Warrior
I’ve been using Bucked Up Pre Workout for about a month now and I have to say, it’s pretty freakin’ amazing. I thought that I would enjoy it less and feel the effects less after a month, which is pretty common with other pre workout products. This wasn’t the case, much to my surprise.
The Blood Raz flavor tastes like liquid gold and it mixes so easily, I honestly can’t wait to try the other flavors when I finish this one! But the real MVP of this product is the 200mg caffeine in the pre workout that gives me the boost in energy and focus without the jitters or crash after my workout. If it’d have more caffeine I probably would have a different experience.
And I love the tingling sensation I get from the beta alanine. It is an extra boost that helps me power through my workout.
I am really enjoying my experience with Bucked Up Pre Workout.
It’s worth the hype it’s gotten in the media, and I will definitely be continuing to use it.
So should you try it? Hell YES!
If you’re looking for a pre workout that tastes amazing, and that gives you an energy boost, but doesn’t make you feel jittery or cause a crash afterward, I highly recommend giving Bucked Up Pre Workout a try.
Don’t just take my word for it. Give Bucked Up Pre Workout a shot and experience it for yourself.
Trust me, you won’t be disappointed and be very happy you did.
If you’re looking for a high caffeine pre workout, then this product probably isn’t right for you. However, consuming larger amounts of caffeine can possibly have negative effects on the body.
For this reason I would suggest you to take a couple of weeks to detox from caffeine first and when slowy start using it again. If you do that, you’ll notice that 200mg is plenty to get that enegry and focus boost you might desire.
